Dinner will begin at 6:00pm and the suggested donation is $5.00 per person. All proceeds from this 1st Wednesday dinner will help support scholarship funding for a student who would otherwise be unable to attend camp Elevation. For more information about Elevation - www.ssmelevation.org
Student Camp Scholarships - Help sponsor a child for Elevation 2009. The theme this year is ECHO which speaks of how students can leave an ‘echo’ in this world by serving others. Many of our Seacoast families have experienced the effects of the recent economic downturn. This has resulted in several students not having the opportunity to participate in Elevation this year without your help. Your scholarship will enable students to experience God in a tremendous way with all the youth of Seacoast at Camp Awanita in Marietta, SC. You can leave an echo in their lives now by your generosity! A full camp scholarship is $319. All gifts need to be received by Sunday, May 31st. If you have any questions please contact Ross White – rosswhite@seacoast.org or 284.0781.
Join us May 6th for a hot dog cook out with your favorite home cooked sides. Dinner is at 6:00 followed by our worship service at 7:00. Thanks to our previous 1st Wednesday gatherings our mission team, to date, have been able to purchase their tickets for Guatemala and are now working to pull together the funds for their service project tools. To become more involved see our earlier post on the Golf Tournament or contact our Missions Coordinator - Murray Fisher murrayfisher@seacoast.org or you can contact our office - 864.284.0781
The National Day of Prayer
“O Lord, … we put our hope in You.” (Psalm 33:22)
In such perilous times, when fear and uncertainty prevail in our nation, prayer is our greatest source of hope as we rely, not on national power or economic security, but on the Almighty God. “Prayer, America’s Hope” is the theme of the 2009 National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 7, a day set aside for earnest, fervent prayer for our nation, our people and especially our troops overseas. All members of Seacoast Church are invited to join with other area believers on May 7 at the Mauldin area observance from 12 noon until 1 p.m. at Mauldin City Hall on East Butler Road. In case of rain, the event will be held in the auditorium of the Cultural Center at Butler Road and Murray Drive. Pastors of many area churches will lead in prayer, and an interdenominational choir will be featured. Now is the time to unite our voices in prayer to our gracious and all-powerful God.
