January GroupLink

  • How do I make this feel like my church home?
  • How do I fit in when everyone seems to know each other?
  • Am I the only new person here?
  • Does anyone care what is going on in my world?
  • Who would I call if I had a need in my family?

If you’ve ever wondered any of these questions, the answer is through Small Groups: a small gathering of people that meet on a regular basis to do life together. Learn more about them next Sunday 01/20, and make plans to visit the Group Link Tent after service to meet our leaders and find your new group!

5 Love Languages Lake Day

Are you and your spouse speaking the same language? People express and receive love in different ways.  Dr. Gary Chapman identifies these as the five languages of love:

Quality Time · Words of Affirmation · Gifts · Acts of Service  · Physical Touch

If you express love in a way your spouse doesn't understand he or she won’t realize you’ve expressed your love at all.  The problem is that you’re speaking two different languages.  Join us for this fun and relaxing marriage enrichment “mini retreat” designed for couples who are dating, engaged, newly married or have been married for years!

Saturday, June 23rd 3-9 p.m.  Boating, Fellowship, Dinner Cookout, Video Teaching, Guided Evaluations to Assess your Love Language

This Day is Sponsered by Seacoast Irmo Small Group Ministry and is Free to all who attend, however Registration is Required and Ends, Sunday June 17th.  To Register, either e-mail angelapeterson@seacoast.org or complete a Connect Card on Sunday, write in "5 Love Languages"  and drop it in the box.

Happy Mothers Day!, Love Dad

Today is Mothers Day. That makes it a very special day.  Our women were honored for the unique ways that God made them special and for the calling and accomplishment of raising raising children and grandchildren in this world.  We gifted them with a lovely boxed candle and treated them to quiche, fresh fruit and pastries with their normal donuts and coffee this morning. Just little touches to say how much we respect, honor and appreciate all you do.  And then something else happened....Pastor Jeff and a group of 28 men replaced the mothers who normally serve in our children's ministry!  They made crafts with the children (if you can operate a caulk gun, you can glue ribbon to a box!), joined in worship and ran the regular, easy to run but extremely impactful children's ministry we do each week!  We called them "Special Forces" and they truly took our campus by storm...here's the proof:

An AMAZINGLY MORE Sunday

Eph 3:20 Now to him who is able to do amazingly more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us...

This past Sunday was one of those Sunday’s that every church dreams about. The day started with 2 amazing services where we saw so many marriages deeply touched by Pastor Greg’s message, 4 people commit or recommit their lives to Christ and the worship was simply amazing! But we were not the only group being moved that day. As I walked around the campus I saw our kids also being taught God’s word and passionately being led in worship by our KidsCoast team. From the Nursery to The Zone I saw our children singing and clapping their hearts out as they worshipped God with everything they had. Then, I saw them break up into their small groups and I watched as our teachers lovingly lead them into a time of searching for God’s wisdom and grace. I also had the chance to peak in our student room to hear Todd give a deeply insightful talk about the crucifixion of Jesus. The student team is taking our students through a series called “CSI”. In this series they are taking the thousands of facts that prove that Jesus is who He says He is and talking about them. Todd told me that many of the students came forward Sunday to be prayed for after his talk.

Ok, that’s just the beginning! After service we held our Newcomers class. We had 22 people attend looking to see if this was the church God wanted them to join. Well, 16 people joined our church that day…that is so amazing!

I’m not done yet! Later that day our KidsCoast Ministry held their baptism service at the pool of Todd & Cindi Vollertsen and 8 of our Kidscoast children were baptized (see our campus blog for pictures). Over 70 parents, grandparent, aunts, uncles and friends stood around the pool and watched as their children made their public profession that Jesus was the Lord of their lives. Then, in typical Seacoast fashion…we celebrated by eating some awesome food!

One more and I’m done! After the baptism service, I drove to the church to check in on our Alpha class. Alpha is a class designed for people seeking for the truth about God or who met God many years ago but needed to reconnect with Him. The room was full of people seeking Gods truth by listening and asking questions. Patrick & Kelly Connelly are doing an amazing job helping people find God’s truth through our Alpha program. Again, in typical Seacoast fashion, the food was amazing!!!!

In all we had 575 people in church, 4 commitments, 6 children and 2 adults baptized, 16 people join the church, fed 175 people between 3 different meals in 3 locations and had 15 people seeking a deeper understanding of God at our Alpha class.

Now that’s an amazingly more Sunday…GO GOD!

Pastor Jeff
