Kidcoast Christmas Party

December 16th from 5:15-7:15 p.m. at Three Fountains Recreation in Lexington.

Kids - come and skate to Christian music for 2 hours, eat pizza and hang with friends.  We've rented the entire place for this event so it is safe for all.

Parents - We'll have a meeting from 5:30-6:15 at the rink to discuss new plans for 2008 and how they effect you and your child(ren)!  Please plan to stay for this.  If you want to eat or skate, you will need to purchase a ticket too.

Volunteers - Please join us for this time to connect with our kids outside of church and spend time with the families.  We also want you there for the meeting to hear about new stuff for 2008!

We want to be good stewards of our finances so in order to know how many to reserve for, we are selling tickets in advance for $5 which includes skate rental.  Tickets at the door will be $7.  Please get them this Sunday, Dec. 9th at the information center in the lobby or contact Angela at 530.3195. or angelapeterson@seacoast.org

Parents Night Out

Drop & Shop is what we are calling this community outreach event on December 9th and 12th.  From 5-8p.m. on both nights we are inviting parents to drop off their children for a ginormous kids party filled with Christmas movies, elf food, crafts, games, etc while they go shopping!  We will also host a free gift wrapping center in the lobby where we will wrap your gifts for you while you wait!

Both services are free!  This is a community event so invite everyone!  For Seacoast Irmo parents who serve with us on one night, you may leave your kids with us the next.  Single parent's of Seacoast Irmo are encouraged to participate by letting us watch your kids for you while you either go out or have presents wrapped in the lobby, our treat!

Contact Angela at 530.3195 with any questions or to volunteer!

Harbor Town Team

100_1978 The early morning team in Harbor Town has it going on!  Mr. Ted and his awesome family, Victor, Grant and Marla arrive early each week and set up before serving in 1st service.  Mr. John and MRS! Christine (they got married!) brought in some new friends, Derrick and Dori who couldn't wait to get their Kidscoast t-shirts and become official volunteers!  Welcome to the team...can we call you guys the A-Team?

I'm More Than My Wacky Clothes!

This week in THE ZONE, our 4th and 5th graders talked about judging others just because of what they wear.  To demonstrate, our normally stylish and hip Zoners gave us a little fashion show...thankfully we love them for who they are on the inside! 100_1964

New Preschool Class Added

This past Sunday, we added a new class to our pre-school department at Kidscoast Irmo!  Here are the new ages:

Hidden Cove    0-24 Months

Butterfly Bay  2 Year Olds  - New room!

Treasure Island  3 Year Olds - New room and separated from the 4's and 5's.

Adventure Beach  4 and 5 Year Olds    This class has moved to the next building, off the courtyard, across from Harbor Town.100_1972

The first week went great and the kids learned some wonderful bible stories from their great teachers!  Adventure Beach even got to see a gigantic tree to help them remember Zaccheus climbing up the tree to see Jesus.  Now if you ask one of our 4 year olds why Jesus told him to come down from the tree, they will tell you because "Jesus is going to his house today!"100_1982_2

Hidden Cove Infant Space

What do you do when your nursery goes from 6 babies a service to 11 in one week?  Of course, you knock down walls and make space!  At the beginning of September, we added 60 percent more space to our Hidden Cove classroom to accomodate growth.  (Thank you Pastor Jeff for moving your office!) To better allocate the nursery/preschool space, we moved the 18-24 month olds to Hidden Cove and seperated the space for walkers and infants with more cribs and Bumbos!  The Treasure Island Class is now just 2 year olds and all is going very well there too!  Our prayer request is for the laminate flooring to extend into the new nursery space.  Special thanks to our awesome team members who serve in there and provide such great hands on interaction with all of the children each week!

The Modern Day Newsletter

Hey Parents, Volunteers and Kids!

After a couple of months of printing hard copies of newsletters and spending hundreds of dollars only to have leftover or returned out of date extras each month, we're going to give blogging a try!  We can provide you with the same great information, but more often, with up-to-date details, follow-up, more pictures, faster and cheaper! Does it get better?  I don't think so!

The plan is to provide Kidscoast news, with seperate pages for Kidscoast Volunteer Schedules which can be accessed from anywhere, 24/7. Additionally, I'd like to provide a section for the kids themselves to share their stories and have fun.  Please help by commenting on stuff you read and checking back in weekly.  You can also subscribe and every time there is an update, you will be notified!  If this is a ministry you are a part of, please do so as this is your source of communication.  Big goals?  YES!  But why not?!  Please join me.  Send me your stuff; pictures of events, stories your kids told you about church, results you've seen in them, family ideas. Whatever it is, it will be going on here.

Angela
